About
Fuck Ass Bob, sometimes shortened to the acronym FAB, is a catchphrase and slang term used to negatively reference people with perceivably ugly bob haircuts, including blunt, neck-length, middle-parted bobs. The first known use of the term is a viral video that was uploaded online as early as 2019 where a woman tells another woman she has a "fuck ass bob." The phrase was popularized in 2023 after a meme about Kat from Euphoria was posted referring to her haircut as a "fuck ass bob," inspiring further memes over the following months. The phrase is related to the expletive slang term fuckass.
Origin
The earliest known use of the phrase "fuck ass bob" is a viral video posted to iFunny[1] (likely a repost) on July 18th, 2019 where a woman in a classroom yells at another woman and tells her she has a "fuck ass bob" (YouTube reupload shown below).
Spread
The phrase was further popularized around August 2023 in reference to a scene in Euphoria where Kat, who has a bob, suggests the principal knew it was her in a leaked sex tape due to her weight. One viewer, now-suspended X user @ungodlyrowe, posted a screenshot of the scene online, adding the caption, "I hate her. 'Is it because I'm fat Mr. Hayes' no it's because you the only one with that fuck ass bob" (shown below).
On August 15th, X[2] user @mrtysonw quote-reposted an image of Kim Kardashian with a bob, writing, "kourtney stole her wedding country kim stole her fuck ass bob," garnering over 100,000 likes in five months (shown below, left). On August 17th, X[3] user @AzealiaNews made a post comparing "a bob" to "a fuck ass bob," garnering over 9,400 likes in five months (shown below, right).
On the same day TikToker[4] @pretendingtobehot posted a video sharing the image and discussing the phrase in general, falsely claiming that the Euphoria meme is the origin, garnering over 1.2 million likes in five months (shown below). The meme is often thought to be the origin of the phrase.
