The names Fuck Comic and Gasp Comic refer to a 8-panel fanart comic featuring characters from the Love Live! series, in which one of them reacts with anger to another one having learnt the swear word "Fuck" to her innocent sister. The popularity of this piece of work led to numerous redraws, featuring similar characters from other mainstream works of art.

Origin

On August 10th, 2016, Tumblr artist Ida Zhu published a vertical 8-panel comic^[1], featuring Love Live! characters in the following setting:
- in the first part, Ohara Mari, taking the role of the careless rude person, casually says "Fuck" out loud, to which Kurosawa Dia reacts by covering her sister Ruby's ears and dragging her out of the room, all the while gasping and putting on a comical shocked face, with a round-open mouth and her eyes frowning at Mari;
- in the second part, Ruby says "Fuck" out loud, leading to Dia walking towards Mari despite Kanan Matsuura's attempt to stop her, and tackling Mari to the floor, all the while looking at Ruby with the same shocked face (see spoilers below).
This post, titled "it's joke" in reference to the infamous Ohara Mari quote, has amassed more than 59000 notes since its publication.

This comic has inspired other online artists to draw characters from other franchises in a similar humorous scenario, where a rude character accidentally teaches the word "Fuck" to a pure-of-heart one, startling a righteous character. In all of these comics, the righteous protagonist displays the same comically shocked face than Dia's. In July 19th, 2017, the most popular of such redraws was posted on Spacey's Tumblr account^[2] (spoiler below on the left), with My Hero Academia characters, nearing 55000 notes as of 2021. On Twitter, savisavichan's take on this meme in a Doki Doki Literature Club setting (spoiler below on the right) gathered 15100 likes and 6300 retweets since its publication on April 5th, 2018^[3].
