Fuckscapes (also known as "Ruined Wallpapers" or "Negative Nature") is the name for a series of photographic images that have had inappropriate or unrelated text digitally inserted into them. These images are commonly professional-level photographs of landscapes and scenes in nature, and the text is in no way related, often alluding to some sort of sexual or otherwise inappropriate act.

In 2011, some of the earliest instances of these images began appearing on 4chan, particularly on /b/ (random) and /wg/ (wallpaper general) boards. They were very well-received, but remained nameless.

Not long after these images gained their popularity on 4chan, Tumblr users also began creating them, often using hipster-style photography to create a greater feeling of non-relation between the image and the text.

After a year or more of floating around the internet without having an official name, a thread appeared on May 11th, 2012 on 4chan's /b/ board in which the original poster requested more images like them, and for a name to be decided within the thread. After a few creative suggestions by other users, one poster mentioned that he had created a folder on his computer for the images, and simply named it "Fuckscapes." This name was immediately accepted by others in the thread.
