Galactus Asked Too High A Price is an exploitable meme featuring a scene from the 2025 film Fantastic Four: First Steps. The meme shows Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal speaking to the press and saying "We tried to negotiate, but Galactus, he asked too high a price." The reporter asks, "Well, what does he want?" with memes altering Reed Richards answer to fit a punchline. The original scene shows Reed Richards saying, "Our son." The meme began making the rounds in late July 2025 after the release of the film

Origin

The film Fantastic Four: First Steps follows the group going up against the supervillain Galactus, who has offered to spare Earth from being devoured in exchange for Reed Richards and Sue Storm's super-human son. The snippet featuring a scene where Reed Richards debriefs the press on their failed negotiation with Galactus was posted to YouTube[1] by Marvel Entertainment on July 14th, 2025, where it gathered over 700,000 views in two weeks.
