Origin
The film Fantastic Four: First Steps follows the group going up against the supervillain Galactus, who has offered to spare Earth from being devoured in exchange for Reed Richards and Sue Storm's super-human son. The snippet featuring a scene where Reed Richards debriefs the press on their failed negotiation with Galactus was posted to YouTube[1] by Marvel Entertainment on July 14th, 2025, where it gathered over 700,000 views in two weeks.
The earliest known meme featuring the scene is a July 14th, 2025, post in the Facebook[2] group "Marvel: Multiverse of Shitposting," where Facebook user Chip Douglas posted a meme that read, "$80 for a popcorn bucket of his head. I don't even know where I'd keep it." The post gathered over 300 reactions in two weeks.
