About
I Don't Care What Anybody Says or Think, I Am the Best at This Game by FAR is a copypasta inspired by braggadocious Guilty Gear Strive player Latif after failing to make Top 8 for the game during EVO 2022. After posting a tweet declaring himself the best at the game despite the disappointing results, the text of his tweet was copied and slightly altered on social media among the fighting game community.
Origin
On August 7th, 2022, at EVO 2022, player Latif finished 9th, losing to Leffen and PepperySplash, both of whom also play Zatif's preferred character Zato-1.[1] After his elimination, Latif tweeted,[2] "No matter how much of a better player you are in strive, it doesnt matter unfortunately. I dont care what anybody says or think" [sic], "i am the best at this game by FAR. No one comes even close. Screw the mirror match and rps and gl to everyone in top 8. Peace." The tweet gained over 270 retweets, 700 quote-tweets and 3,000 likes in one day (shown below).
Spread
In the immediate wake of Latif's tweet, others posted variations on his text. Notable Super Smash Brothers Melee player Mew2King[3] posted a variation of it, gaining over 380 retweets and 8,700 likes in two days (shown below, left). User @DanFornace[4] posted a parody tailoring the copypasta towards game developers, gaining over 190 retweets and 3,400 likes (shown below, right).
