Gangs of Wasseypur Funeral Procession is an exploitable meme format taken from the 2012 Indian crime movie Gangs of Wasseypur. The screenshot used in the meme depicts Faisal Khan (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Danish Khan (Vineet Kumar Singh) carrying their deceased father in a casket as part of a funeral procession. The image began gaining traction on Twitter in the latter half of 2022 as a means to show the end or death of something in a humorous fashion.

Origin

On June 22nd, 2012, the Indian crime movie Gangs Of Wasseypur was released. The film contained a scene in which the characters Faisal and Danish carry their father as part of a funeral procession[1] (seen below).



The earliest known use of the image taken from this clip as a meme format was a tweet posted on September 11th, 2022, by Twitter[2] user @Hero_Zumour, gathering over 18,000 likes in seven months (seen below).
