Go For It, Nakamura! Cover Parodies refers to edits of the cover for Boys Love (BL) Japanese manga Go For It, Nakamura! The series is about high school student Okuto Nakamura and his crush on classmate Aiki Hirose. In March 2021, the cover of the manga became an exploitable, as people edited in characters of other franchises.

Origin

On May 27th, 2017, the manga Go For It, Nakamura! was released in Japan,^[1] while the worldwide version was released on July 3rd, 2018.^[2] It's was written by Syundei, published by Akane Shinsha (Japan) and Seven Seas Entertainment (worldwide) (shown below).

Spread

On March 14th, 2021, Twitter user @Nerinn_^[3] uploaded first known Go For It, Nakamura! parody, drawing Genshin Impact characters Amber and Lumine in the cover. The image received more than 4,900 retweets and 18,500 likes (shown below, left). On the next day, Twitter user @Barley_Juice_^[4] uploaded Persona 5 art in the cover. The image received more than 2,200 retweets and 11,000 likes (shown below, right).

Over the following week, the manga cover of Go For It, Nakamura! was used as an exploitable with numerous other franchises. For example, on March 16th, 2021, Twitter user GlennAkio^[5] uploaded a meme showing the Maki Nishikino and Nico Yazawa pairing from Love Live! School Idol Project. The tweet received 75 retweets and 335 likes (shown below, left). On March 19th, 2021, Twitter user JanAzuren09^[6] uploaded fan art inspired by@GlennAkio's tweet. The image received more than 1,200 retweets and 4,100 likes (shown below, right).
