About

Go To The Bathroom Now refers to a viral video set to gameplay footage of Mafia III in which a mother yells at her son to "go to the bathroom and take a shit," as he is allegedly defecating in his pants as he's being yelled at. The video was first uploaded to YouTube in 2018, resulting in a number of memes and video edits referencing it over the next three years, as well as becoming a popular original sound on TikTok.

Origin

On January 13th, 2018, YouTuber[1] Etaled posted a video titled, "CRAZY PARENT FLIPS OUT AT SON / TELL HIM TO GO TO THE BATHROOM" (shown below). The video depicts an argument between a mother and son (named Demetrius), with the mother repeatedly screaming at her son to go to the bathroom as he defecates in his own pants and continually refuses. Farting noises can notably be heard in the background throughout. The upload is currently unlisted. The video was originally uploaded to Etaled's alternate channel "creeperman 90" before being removed.

The description for the video claims that the person defecating themself is not the uploader and that the uploader simply recorded the encounter, but this is highly debated. Other uploads by Etaled reveal that the uploader has an extremely similar voice to the one in the "Go to the bathroom" video. Additionally, the game being played is Mafia III, a single-player game, making it unlikely the recording is of someone else. The most convincing evidence of Etaled being Demetrius is a clip uploaded to Etaled's alternate channel "creeperman 90" in 2016, predating the viral "bathroom" video, in which his mother quickly yells at him "Go to the bathroom, Demetrius!" as he's gaming, eliciting a similar response and suggesting this is an ongoing problem (shown below, timestamp 2:32).
