Guys, Ed Sheeran Got Hot refers to an image macro series that pairs images of pop culture figures with red hair and the caption "GUYS ED SHEERAN GOT HOT." The series mocks a supposedly genuine tweet about one's physical attraction to English musician and recording artist Ed Sheeran.
Origin
On June 22nd, 2019, Twitter[1] user @snollygoster111 tweeted two photographs of Ed Sheeran shirtless and the caption, "GUYS ED SHEERAN GOT HOT." The tweet was the subject of a Twitter Ratio, indicating that people disagreed with the sentiment, receiving more than 1,200 comments, 1,000 likes and 150 retweets in three days (shown below).

Following the post, some took the caption and paired it with unflattering photographs of red-haired cultural figures. In one of the earliest, Twitter[2] user @gaysnufkin69 tweeted a photograph of a tattooed red-haired chihuahua dog under the caption (shown below, left).
That day, Twitter[3] user @pixelatedboat used the caption for a photograph of a red-haired Cabbage Patch Kid doll. The post received more than 16,000 likes and 1,400 retweets in three days (shown below, center).
Throughout the day, people continued to mock the caption with images that aim to create an unflattering comparison to Sheeran. Twitter[4] user @sweatie_ tweeted the caption and a photograph of horror movie character Chucky the murderous doll. The post recieved more than 1,700 likes and 280 retweets in three days (shown below, right).
The following day, Twitter[5] user @SJSchauer tweeted the caption with a photoshopped image of Ed Sheeran, replacing his face with Texas Senator Ted Cruz. The tweet received more than 23,000 likes and 2,000 retweets in two days (shown below).
