Guys Live In Apartments Like This refers to a copypasta on Twitter in parody of a tweet showing an apartment that only has a television and an easy chair in its living area. The tweet was parodied as people tweeted notable apartments and spaces from art and popular culture along with the caption.

Origin

On December 12th, 2018, Twitter user @kathasty^[1] tweeted a picture of a bare living room save for a television and easy chair with the caption "guys really live in apartments like this and don’t see any issue," gaining over 33,000 retweets and 192,000 likes (shown below).

Spread

Over the following few days, the tweet was parodied by hundreds of Twitter users who used @kathasty's caption and added different, well-known spaces. On December 16th, user @SlayerRules_420 posted a picture of Plato's Cave, gaining over 910 retweets and 4,900 likes (shown below, left). User @KenKlippenstein posted an image of Jordan Peterson in a messy room, gaining over 200 retweets and 2,500 likes (shown below, right).

Other popular tweets showed apartments from famous pieces of pop culture. Comedy Central tweeted the apartment from Pee Wee's Playhouse, gaining over 40 retweets and 250 likes (shown below, left). User @coolabedfilms tweeted a still from Community that gained over 35 retweets and 180 likes (shown below, right).
