Hatsune Miku Album Cover Parodies refers to a series of various album cover parodies that add Hatsune Miku into the image. The trend grew popular in August 2024 on Twitter / X along with Brazilian Miku and Every Country's Miku.
Origin
It is unclear who created the first album cover parodies featuring Hatsune Miku. However on August 28th, 2024, during the "Every Country's Miku" trend, Twitter / X[1] user @twelvelevens uploaded a parody of American rapper Tyler, the Creator's album cover for IGOR. The post received over 38,000 reposts and 255,000 likes in one week.
Spread
Starting in late August 2024, @twelvelevens's post inspired artists on Twitter / X to start creating parodies of album covers featuring Miku. For example on August 30th, 2024, Twitter / X[2] user @MEOWGADETH uploaded a parody of the Megadeth album Peace Sells. . . but Who's Buying? which also inspired the Skeleton Looking at Explosion meme. The post received over 10,000 reposts and 65,000 likes in six days.
On September 1st, 2024, Twitter / X[3] user @BabeforBrains uploaded a parody of the Rob Zombie album Hellbilly Deluxe. The post received over 15,000 reposts and 85,000 likes in four days.
