Helicopter Helicopter, also known as Fazlija's "Helikopter," refers to a song in which a male voice repeats, "helicopter, helicopter," while a helicopter's whirring sound emanates. The original Helicopter Helicopter song is called "Helikopter" by Romani-Bosnian singer Fazlija. In late October 2021, the song gained popularity as a TikTok sound. Many filmed videos of themselves spinning like helicopters or showed objects spinning like helicopters. The viral videos trended en masse going into 2022, gaining increased eminence over the years.

Origin

On December 29th, 2015, Fazlija's official YouTube^[1] channel uploaded "Helikopter." The song received more than 2.3 million views in six years (shown below). In October 2021, the song gained popularity on TikTok. On October 31st, TikToker^[2] @dorushk uploaded a clip of Patrick Star floating away from someone's hand with the song. The video received more than 479,000 views in two weeks. It has since been deleted, however, it's since been reposted to YouTube^[9] (shown below, right).

On November 9th, 2021, TikToker^[3] @jnickiminaj uploaded the Tasty Hoon Cheese Fondue video with the song. The video received more than 12.5 million views in four days (since deleted). The next day, TikToker^[4] @alwayswannabreathe uploaded a video of a flying dildo with the caption "attack helicopter." The video received roughly 6.9 million plays and 828,600 likes in two years (shown below, left).

Going into 2022 and 2023, the TikTok^[7] sound for "Helikopter" amassed over 1.7 million videos using it. The sound's most viral video as of June 2023 was uploaded on November 17th, 2021, by TikToker^[8] @mistermainer, showing their dog mouthing the song with a pinwheel hat on, gaining roughly 64.2 million plays and 9.3 million likes in two years (shown below, right).

On November 10th, 2021, Fazlija posted a video thanking fans for his song's newfound popularity to his Instagram. ^[5] The video received more than 74,000 views and 3,200 likes in two years (shown below). On December 1st, 2021, Fazlija posted a video to TikTok^[6] that thanked the platform for 1 million videos on his TikTok^[7] sound.
