About

Horse of Absolute Agreement and Understanding refers to a series of memes using videos of horses shaking their heads accompanied by humorous overlay texts asking the animal for approval on random topics. The trend started in mid-March 2025 on TikTok, shared mainly under Bjork’s "Pagan Poetry" sound on the platform. In late March 2025, the opposite version of the trend, the Horse of Disapproval and Discouragement, gained traction as a meme on TikTok.

Origin

On March 9th, 2025, TikTok[1] user @.lovebhug posted a sped-up video of a horse agressively shaking his head up and down under Bjork’s song "Pagan Poetry." The video (seen below) amassed 8 million plays and 2 million likes in a month.

A day after the video was posted, TikTok[2] user @t0mmy commented on the video, writing, "me when I’m the Horse of agreement and understanding," which later inspired other jokes and memes about the horse videos. The comment received roughly 73,000 likes in a month.

Memes and humoristic content using videos of horses shaking their heads intensively gained viral usage over the course of a month on TikTok.

For example, on April 1st, 2025, TikTok[3] user @neeaaa.__ posted a video of a horse nodding his head up and down, accompanied by the overlay texts "Should I drink and gamble?" and "The highly intelligent horse of agreement." The video amassed roughly 722,000 plays and 152,000 likes in a day.

On March 29th, 2025, TikTok[4] user @farmensaladdin posted a version of the meme using a video of a horse nodding his head left and right, writing, Horse of disapproval and discouragement. The post (seen below) received more than 4 million plays and 1.3 million likes in four days.
