Mr. Washee Washee / How Do I Get Him Off? refers to an exploitable trend of inserting the Family Guy character Mr. Washee Washee, the Asian laundromat owner, into unexpected places and adding the caption, "How do I get him off?" or "How do I remove him?" The original meme was about Mr. Washee Washee being stuck in an FL Studio project. It went viral when posted on Twitter / X in late 2024. The original Instagram Story was posted by hip-hop producer Ezra, wgdaaf, who spoke with Know Your Meme in an exclusive interview. Heading into 2025, the meme spread across social media sites like TikTok and Instagram where meme creators put Mr. Washee Washee into other 2D spaces and settings that were impossible to enter.

On October 4th, 2024, X[1] user @boolymen tweeted a meme showing the Family Guy character Mr. Washee Washee in FL Studio with an Instagram story text caption asking, "How do I get him off?" Over three months, the post amassed over 84,000 likes (shown below).
In the replies, X[10] user Ezra (@wedntgiveafk) shared a screenshot of the same FL Studio project with Mr. Washee Washee, captioned, "BRO I STILL CANT GET HIM OFF," gaining over 2,700 likes in three months. X[11] user @boolymen replied to @wedntgiveafk with crying emojis soon after.
In direct correspondence with Know Your Meme, Ezra confirmed that he shared the original story to his Instagram[12] @wdgaaf on October 4th, providing a screenshot of his story highlights from the day (shown below).

The image was reposted by Redditor[3] 01Rockstar01 to /r/FL_Studio a few hours later on October 4th, 2024, gaining over 1,800 upvotes in three months. On October 6th, Instagram[2] user @dildoger reposted it, gaining over 52,000 likes in three months.
The meme received minor variations in late 2024 and early 2025, like a video posted by X[4] user @Amt1179 on January 6th, 2025, that showed Mr. Washee Washee in their FL Studio project, gaining over 200 likes in three weeks (shown below).

Viral iterations surfaced in the following days, like a video posted by TikToker[5] @liam.evitts on January 16th, showing Mr. Washee Washee drawn on his homework, gaining over 66,600 likes in 11 days (shown below).

On January 23rd, TikToker[8] @ehvox posted a photo of Mr. Washee Washee in Squid Game, gaining over 50,600 likes in four days (shown below).
On January 25th, 2025, X[9] user @soomlarr tweeted a GIF of Mr. Washee Washee covering Peppino in Pizza Tower, gaining over 30,000 likes in two days (shown below).
