About

How Fast These Dogs Will Kill You refers to a parody trend on TikTok in which users upload videos claiming to show potentially dangerous dog breeds and how long it would take them to kill you, offer one example, then cut to original footage of the user's dog looking harmless with a comedic kill-time listed. The videos first became popular on TikTok in February 2021, seeing a peak in March.

Origin

On February 14th, 2021, TikToker[1] bobby_0714, who frequently uploads videos showing footage of deadly animals and giving facts about them, uploaded a video with the on-screen caption, "Top Dogs that can K*ll you quickly," followed by images of various dogs and an amount of time it would take for the dog to kill a person (shown below). The video gained over 14.1 million views in just under a month.

On February 17th, TikToker[2] jakeweinsheimer duetted to the video, including the first example of a dog and its kill time before cutting to an image of their dog Zeke staring into the camera with an allotted kill time of "eventually," garnering over 2.5 million views in under a month and beginning the trend (shown below).
