About
I Got Too Drunk and Rode the Mechanical Bull 3 Times On Our First Date refers to memes and jokes about a viral debate discussing whether riding a mechanical bull at a bar as a man is a "manly" enough activity. Mechanical Bull discourse may have started with a July 2024 segment on the podcast High Maintenance, during which host Thicki Lake @ShyThugg talked about getting the ick after her date got too excited to ride the mechanical bull at a bar. In May 2025, X user @gloless tweeted, "Girl just told me she ghosted me because I got too drunk and rode the mechanical bull 3 times on our first date," prompting a new round of memes and discourse about men riding mechanical bulls.
Origin
On July 11th, 2025, Thicki Lake, one of the hosts of the podcast High Maintenance, discussed how her date insisted on riding the mechanical bull at a bar, leaving her wondering why she would enter a "ride off" with her man. Lake's Bee agreed, saying, "The mechanical bull is for women to show their ass and that's it." The segment can be seen on a post to the podcast's X[1] account from July 11th, 2025.
