"I Ran Out Of Ideas" refers to a series of YouTube Poop Music Videos that follow the snowclone title I Ran Out Of X and use the Electronic Dance song "Dreaming of You <(^^,)>" created by Newgrounds user Sp1r1T in 2008.[1]
Origin
The first YTPMV was created in 2009 by a YTPMV creator MapleManiac[2]. His video, featuring Team Fortress 2 characters, "I ran out of ideas" was posted to YouTube on December 23th, 2009, and has since gained over 150,000 views in under 7 years.
Spread
This video caught an attention from not few YTPMV creators. They followed this video's style by their own rendition, and started posting video responses to it. The most popular of these was uploaded by YouTube user wazgul on December 16th, 2009. The video featured the villain Paper Doll Man from the cartoon series The Impossbles, and has since gained over 70,000 views in under 7 years (shown below, left). Later, on January 2nd, 2010, YouTube user epicsidekick uploaded a video using various sources combined with the song (shown below, right).The video has since gained over 30,000 views in under 6 years.
