ytpmv elf is a 2019 YTPMV known for its low quality. It has been used as a source in YTPMV remixes.

Origin

Youtuber "obama comedy" uploaded a video^[1] titled "ytpmv elf" to YouTube on May 28, 2019. The video includes a remix of scenes from the 2003 film Elf to the tune of The World Revolving, also known as Jevil's Theme, from the 2018 video game Deltarune. obama comedy used sentence mixing to extract the words "gay people" from a scene in Elf where a store manager says "Okay, people." The word "fuck" also appears repeatedly, which is from an Elf YouTube Poop ^[2] titled "YTP Elf" posted on December 9, 2014 by YouTuber 333ajc.

ytpmv elf did not receive much attention initially, gaining 3,800 views by November 26, 2020.^[1] It began attracting attention in 2021. In the same year, the video became unavailable. YouTuber "Over Koolness" reuploaded the video^[3] on August 2, 2021. The reupload received over 230,000 views in 16 months (shown below).

On July 1, 2021, ytpmv elf 2 was created, which was another Elf remix to the tune of On and On from the 2004 video game Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan Daijiten.

Sometime on or before August 3th, 2021, obama comedy's account was terminated, which caused the original ytpmv elf video to get deleted, along with ytpmv elf 2.^[4]

On August, 2, 2021, YouTuber "EselGamer 909" reuploaded ytpmv elf 2^[5], gaining over 20,000 views in 16 months, much more than the original upload.

Around a month later, the account "obama comedy 2" was created, which uploaded some of their old videos, as well as created ytpmv elf 3, which was yet another Elf remix that used Yousuke Yasui's 2016 arrangement of _Heat Man's theme_ from Mega Man, which was uploaded on an unknown date.

Around Jan 29, 2022, obama comedy 2's account was also terminated, deleting all of their videos again, as well as ytpmv elf 3. On the same day, the video was reuploaded by YouTuber "Lola the Gardevoir", gaining over 8,300 views in a year.

Spread

Sometime on or before September 14, 2021, A YouTube playlist^[6] maintained by YouTuber "Lola The Gardevoir" was created that has over 350 videos related to ytpmv elf by January 11, 2023, potentially causing the meme to spread much faster, as well as put any videos of the meme in one playlist.
