The Kitchen of Danger, also known as Funny Funny is a chiptune song from the Game Boy Color game The Smurfs' Nightmare. The song is a popular source for YTPMV remixes.

Origin

The Game Boy game The Smurfs' Nightmare was first released in Europe in 1997, then was re-released in Europe on the Game Boy Color in 1999, as well as in North America on February 28th, 1999.[1] The music for the game's first stage, "The Kitchen of Danger," was composed by Alberto Jose González, along with the rest of the game's music.[2] The song (shown below) was first uploaded to YouTube by Fearnavigatr on May 1st, 2009, where it received over 93,000 views in over fifteen years.



The first known YTPMV using the song (shown below) was posted to YouTube by Xarlalt[3] (Xarlable) on November 25th, 2011, and used footage of the Japanese character Hard Gay. The video received over 31,000 views in over twelve years.

On July 3rd, 2013, YouTube user OurVidCommunity[4] posted a short YTPMV of the song and Derek Bum's Kitchen Gun skit. The video (shown below, left) received over 7,500 views in over ten years. On December 24th, 2013, YouTube user shaliek[5] posted a YTPMV using the song and a video rant from YouTuber karmastar312. The video (shown below, right) received over 25,000 views in over ten years.



On December 23rd, 2019, a YTPMV collab that uses Derek Bum's Kitchen Gun skit was posted to YouTube by RazQ.[6] In the video (shown below, left) a remixed version of the song is used with visuals by DitzyFlama.[7] The video received over 891,000 views in over four years. On March 10th, 2021, a YTPMV of the song by ChickenSuitGuy[8] was posted to the SiIvaGunner[9] YouTube channel. The video (shown below, right) received over 32,000 views in three years.
