About
I Think It Can Digging In The Ground For Tubers refers to a viral Tumblr post consisting of an image of an echidna with a nonsensical quote about how the animal looks funny but "you have to take it seriously eventually," ending with the sentence, "I think it can digging in the ground for tubers." The post was made in August 2019 and inspired numerous memes referencing it over the following years, with the catchphrase itself becoming a copypasta.
Origin
On August 5th, 2019, Tumblr[1] user worm-suggestion reblogged an image of an echidna from Tumblr[2] user Crownshrine and added an absurd string of text. The text reads: "It looks funny, right? You think it looks funny. I do too. But it lives its whole life. So you have to take it seriously eventually, right? And be respectful and shit. I think it can digging in the ground for tubers." The post gained over 149,000 notes in two years (shown below).
