Please respond to this and then hang out with me on Thursday night when I’m free." The meme is generally used in reference to various celebrities and was first posted in June 2015.

Origin

On June 8th, 2015, Tumblr^[1] user @renaissance posted a text post that read, "Rihanna if you read this I'm free on Thursday night and would like to hang out. Please respond to this and then hang out with me on Thursday night when I’m free." The post gathered over 157,000 notes in eight years (seen below). The post then become a phrasal template meme in which Rihanna's name was replaced with the celebrity of one's choice.

On July 7th, 2016, Tumblr^[2] user @serappho-moved posted the copypasta with Rihanna switched out for Aubrey Plaza. The post gathered over 46,000 likes in seven years (seen below, left).

On November 10th, 2018, X^[5] user @greenIight posted "ezra miller if you're reading this I am free to hang out on Tuesday night please contact me if you would like to hang out on Tuesday night when I am free," gathering over 30,000 likes in five years (seen below).

On December 17th, 2019, X^[3] user @labyrinthchorus posted the copypasta in reference to former One Direction member and singer Niall Horan, gathering over 4,000 likes in four years (seen below).

On July 30th, 2020, X^[4] user @etherian_heart posted the copypasta in a variation that read, "Booboo Stewart if you’re reading this I am free on Thursday night. if you would like to hang out I am free on Thursday night when I am free to hang out. I am free to hang out on Thursday night so if you want to hang out on Thursday night I am free." The post gathered over 1,000 likes in three years (seen below).
