Interrupting "Students For Life" Duets refers to a series of TikTok Duets made in response to a video by anti-abortion account @studentsforlife telling another TikToker they shouldn't joke about abortion. TikTokers Duet the video and make loud noises over @studentsforlife so her speech is illegible. The original video was posted in December 2021 and became the subject of Duets in early 2022.

Origin

On December 11th, 2021, TikToker^[1] @its_nupur posted a video set to the Go Little Rockstar trend where she makes the joke, "My son would have been 1 year old today if CVS wasn't open," implying she went to CVS to get the plan-B pill to terminate her pregnancy, gaining over 13.7 million views in two months (shown below).

On December 12th, TikToker^[2] @studentsforlife, a pro-life anti-abortion account, posted a Stitch response to the video, saying that her joke represents one of the lowest forms of humor, saying it highlights how desensitized gen-z is to abortion and encouraging pro-lifers to speak up (shown below). The video gained over 10.6 million views in two months.

Around January 23rd, 2022, TikTokers began duetting @studentsforlife's video with videos of themselves making loud noise, playing music or talking over her to drown out her speech as if they don't care. For example, on that day TikTokers^[3][4] @molegaddis and @stanleyhoochie posted videos doing this, the latter covering her speech with the iCarly theme song, gaining over 1.8 million and 2.2 million views in a month respectively (shown below).

On January 24th, TikToker^[5] @.__nick posted a version playing guitar as she speaks, gaining over 7 million views in a month (shown below, left). On January 26th, music critic^[6] Anthony Fantano posted a Duet to the video, gaining over 1.6 million views in a similar span of time (shown below, right).

On February 4th, TikToker^[7] @moodybluesrequiem posted a Duet to the video using the Mr. Incredible Becoming Uncanny meme and vocalizing a song, gaining over 3.5 million views in three weeks (shown below).
