Coca-Cola Light Coca-Cola Normal and Coca-Cola Zero refers to a viral video of a man selling Diet Coke on a beach in Spain. In the video, the man sings the soda’s name in a funny way. The video went viral in June 2020 and resurfaced in June 2022 after a TikTok account reposted it, inspiring users to make lip-dub and skit videos on social media mimicking the video.

Origin

On May 15th, 2013, YouTuber^[1] diegoblay71 posted a video of a beach merchant, known as Faisan, singing the words "Coca-Cola Light Coca-Cola Normal and Coca-Cola Zero" in a funny way, garnering over 38,000 views in nine years (shown below).

On June 11th, 2020, TikToker^[2] @al.trof21 posted a video of the same soda vendor working at the Valencian beaches region in Spain. The video gained over 8.4 million views in three years (shown below, left). As the post went viral, users began adding different musical instruments to it through TikTok's Duet feature. For example, on July 17th, 2020, TikToker @aedenalvarez^[3] posted a duet singing to the video, garnering over 845,000 views in two years (shown below, right).

Spread

The video's original sound was used over 1,060 times on TikTok, mostly in Duets, over the next two years. Some of the most popular videos have user rate the best "Coke" the merchant sings. On June 3rd, 2022, the viral meme hit the mainstream after TikToker^[4] @urlpad reposted it, garnering over 61 million views in three months.

The resurfaced video made the merchant famous around the Valencian beaches region. On August 9th, 2022, TikToker^[5] @withherr posted a video of people singing along with Faisan's ‘Coca-Cola Light Coca-Cola Normal’ chant on the beach, garnering over 21.3 million views in a week (shown below).

Remixes

Along with the musical instrument duets on TikTok, the video also inspired some remixes on YouTube. For example, on July 28th, 2020, YouTuber^[6] Mixirica Recs uploaded a remix, garnering over 46,000 views in two years (shown below).
