iShowSpeed Loses Braincells refers to a reaction and caption meme featuring streamer iShowSpeed playing Five Nights at Freddy's and pulling a funny face after being jumpscared. The video shows the screen behind Speed flashing red before his hair sticks straight up and he starts staring at his hands. The GIF, which is typically used to call someone stupid or slow, became a notable reaction meme in 2024.
Origin
On January 16th, 2022, iShowSpeed hosted a YouTube[1] livestream titled, "MLK Day" in which he spent a portion of his time playing Five Nights At Freddy's 6. Around the 5:04:17 timestamp, Speed is shown playing Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator and getting jumpscared, causing him to sit up straight and pull a funny face. The video gathered over 1.3 million views in three years.
On January 17th, YouTuber[2] Le PLUGGG posted a clipped version of the aforementioned video, gathering over 66,000 views in three years on a post titled, "SPEED LOSES BRAIN CELLS WHILE PLAY FNAF PIZZA SIMULATOR."

On February 20th, 2022, YouTuber[3] massive meat gaming reposted the clip with a tune from SpongeBob overlayed on it, gathering over 120,000 views in three years.
The meme made a resurgence in 2024, with X[4] user @M1das_OW2 tweeting, "does anybody have that gif of speed freaking out and the whole background goes red and his hair goes crazy I can’t find it anymore," on July 23rd, 2024, and later quoting their post to show the GIF. The post gathered over 46,000 likes in seven months.
On July 23rd, 2024, X[5] user @hello_eil posted a version of the clip with music from Ed, Edd n Eddy overlayed onto the video, gathering over 20,000 likes in seven months.

On October 27th, X[6] user @7ahul posted the GIF to mock someone for saying, "'Has Mbappe is Offside,'" gathering over 99,000 likes in three months.
