W Speed Moments, also known as Speed Respect Moments, refers to a series of video edits, and screenshots of the video edits that were used as reaction images, that dramatized clips of streamer IShowSpeed in seemingly mundane "moments." Despite the mundanity, the edits were paired with the catchphrase "W Speed" (using the gaming slang term "W," meaning "win") or "Speed Respect" to label Speed's action honorable. A notable example was *Picks Up Water*, which dramatized the action of IShowSpeed picking up a bottle of water. Other examples included *Takes a Sip*, *Tastes the Food* / *Enjoys It*, *Ohio Disabled* and *Starts Moving*. All of the notable examples were screenshots of Shorts created by YouTuber deagzzzshorts. The trend started in August and September 2025, largely coinciding with IShowSpeed's "Speed Does America" tour, in which he visited 25 U.S. states. The edits were largely shared on TikTok and Instagram Reels, but the screenshots spread on Twitter / X and in TikTok comment sections. The trend of screenshotting the edits and sharing them as reaction images and image macros was similar to the precursor Squid Game Edit Reaction Images trend, which used similarly obscure screenshots from Squid Game edits. A majority of the W Speed memes on TikTok used the song "Blue" by Yung Kai.

Origin

On August 31st, 2025, X^[7] user @guccithealien posted a screenshot of an IShowSpeed edit, in which the streamer is shown eating with the caption "*Tastes the Food*" written in red, all-caps text. The tweet received 64 likes in 10 days.

The screenshot was from an IShowSpeed edit created and posted by YouTuber^[8] deagzzzshorts on May 16th, 2025, in which Speed was eating at a Waffle House. At the 10-second mark, it shows Speed taking a bite of his waffle with the caption "*Tastes the Food*" followed by "*Enjoys It*." The edit ends with the caption, "W Speed." Over four months, the video gained over 64 million views and 2.4 million likes.

On September 3rd, 2025, X^[2] user @ramonaballs tweeted a screenshot of IShowSpeed holding a water bottle with the caption "*Picks Up Water*" written in blue, all-caps text. The post gained over 114,000 likes in a week. Previously, @ramonaballs had retweeted the abovementioned post from X^[7] user @guccithealien.

The edit that the *Picks Up Water* frame was sourced from was also shared by YouTuber^[1] deagzzzshorts. It was posted on September 2nd, using a clip of Speed and his brother Jamal pranking fellow streamer Slipz by pouring water on him when he was sleeping. Over eight days, the video received over 712,000 views and 24,000 likes,

On September 5th, 2025, X^[3] user @ramonaballs shared another tweet that attached a screenshot of a deagzzzshorts IShowSpeed edit, this time from a YouTube^[4] video shared on July 26th, 2025, showing Speed taking a sip of cat milk during his trip to Turkey. The screenshot showed Speed drinking from a cup with the caption reading in a red, all-caps font, "*Takes a Sip*." Over five days, the tweet received over 16,000 likes.

On September 6th, TikToker^[5] @filippp129 shared a photo slideshow that repeated the *Picks Up Water* image across several slides. Over four days, the slideshow gained over 57,000 likes. In the comment section, TikTokers shared similar screenshots from IShowSpeed edits.

On September 7th, 2025, X^[9] user @TheJosTurner quote-tweeted their own post that showed a photo of a meal they were about to eat, attaching a two-panel image of the *Tastes the Food* / *Enjoys It* frames. Over three days, the quote-tweet received roughly 115,000 likes.

On September 9th, 2025, Instagram^[6] user @mfpharaoh shared a slideshow using multiple W Speed reaction images, gaining over 5,800 likes in a day.

Also on September 9th, TikToker^[10] @yonkoftw posted a video of himself recreating the "Top 5 W Speed Moments," gaining over 69,700 likes in a day.
