Jackson Yee McDonald's French Fry Ad Middle Finger is an image macro series featuring a cardboard standee of Chinese singer Jackson Yee advertising McDonald's french fries. The image shows two sides of the cutout. The front shows Yee holding a french fry in his hand, while the reverse side resembles the silhouette of a person holding up a middle finger. Online, people have used the image as an object labeling meme to represent things that seem positive on the outside but are harmful in actuality.
Origin
On June 16th, 2020, Redditor [1] truebluexh shared the image on the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. Within two days, the post received more than 23,000 points (93% upvoted) and 790 comments (shown below).
Spread
That day, Redditor[2] araramarrom shared a variation of the meme, which labeled the front of the cutout "Schools anti-bullying campaign" and the reverse "schools treating bullied children." The post received more than 91,000 points (96% upvoted) and 330 comments in less than one week (shown below, left).
