About
Kaiserchino refers to a series of image macros, videos and GIFs that combine elements from a number of memes previously popularized on iFunny, most notably Dunkaccino and Kaiser Mad. The meme gained viral popularity on iFunny in September 2020.
Origin
In early September 2020, ironic edits of the Dunkaccino commercial received significant popularity on iFunny.[1][2][3] On September 11th, 2020, iFunny users Paddyv62 and SHAQ, responsible for the earlier popularization of the Shotguns in WW1 / Kaiser Mad meme in June 2020, started posting memes which tied the two previous memes together on Discord and iFunny. On September 11th, 2020, Paddyv62[4] posted the earliest combined meme, based on the Woman Shouting Knives template, with the post gaining over 770 smiles (shown below, left). Later on the same day, Paddyv62[5] posted a video meme that received over 850 smiles (shown below, right).
Spread
Within one day, iFunny users tied in additional previously popular memes into the Kaiserchino continuity, including We Are Not Aiming for the Truck, the Cuties Controversy, Police Service Lobster and Travis Scott Burger. For example, a So Long, Partner meme posted by iFunny user ClealnandPristine[6] on that day received over 1,100 smiles (shown below, left). An ironic Bad Luck Brian meme posted by iFunny AndroodX[7] on September 12th received over 800 smiles (shown below, right).
In mid-September, the meme maintained major popularity on iFunny, with users posting GIF Captions and other memes based on the meme.
