Origin
On June 30th, 2024, TikTok user @temhota36 posted a TikTok video that applied the Brat Summer aesthetic to Kamala Harris' Fell Out of a Coconut Tree video and catchphrase. The post (shown below) received over 1.1 million views and 196,000 views in three weeks.

On July 3rd, X user @ryanlong03 posted an edit that received over 3.9 million views, 5,600 reposts and 38,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).

The "Coconut Tree" remixes began spreading on Twitter / X starting on July 15th, 2024. One edit was posted that day by Twitter user @icecoldheart9,[1] who posted an edit of Kamala's laugh during her "Fell Out of a Coconut Tree" monologue, splicing it into the song "Coconuts" by Kim Petras. The tweet gained over 120 retweets and 590 likes in four days (shown below).

Over the following hours, several more remixes appeared on the website. Viral examples include a July 15th, 2024, post by Twitter user @ImEveryBottom[2] editing a section of Nicki Minaj's "Make Love," gaining over 1,300 retweets and 8,500 likes in four days (shown below, top). The same day, user @DiaryOfKeysus[3] posted an edit of Whitney Houston's "One of These Days," gaining over 750 retweets and 4,800 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, bottom).

On July 16th, Twitter user @lidoledesc0nnes[5] posted an edit splicing Kamala's laugh into "1991" by Azealia Banks, gaining over 740 retweets and 5,400 likes in three days (shown below, top).
The meme also saw use in the K-pop fandom. For example, on July 16th, 2024, Twitter user @tallyspies[4] made an edit splicing the speech into Aespa's "Lucid Dream," gaining over 1,900 retweets and 8,800 likes in three days (shown below, bottom).
