The KaMangyan Shampoo Issue Video is a purportedly accidental post by Filipino vlogger and TikToker KaMangyan in which she posted a sponsored, nude video of herself on the app instead of the intended sponsored content, an advertisement for a soap product. The incident happened in mid-November 2023 and went viral online as people purportedly shared the deleted video online and through messaging apps.
Origin
On or around November 8th, 2023, Filipino vlogger KaMangyan Vlogs purportedly posted a sponsored video meant to advertise a soap product to her TikTok account, @mercedeslasac09, but accidentally posted a video of herself showering, seemingly with the soap, in which she accidentally showed her full, naked body. On November 8th, Redditor u/resident_kups made a post (shown below) to /r/ChikaPH[1] about the video. Although the post does not name her, numerous commenters[2] claimed it was her and that they saw the video, with some commenting and including the link to the video itself.
Spread
News of the video spread online online over the following days, including videos and posts in which people explain the video or claim to be selling it. For example, on November 12th, 2023, YouTuber[3] moo kaa posted a bait video claiming he would send the video to anyone who DMs him, garnering over 199,000 views in two days (shown below).
These videos were also popularized on TikTok. On November 12th, TikToker[4] @manang_len posted a video about it that gained over 2 million views in two days (shown below, left). On November 13th, TikToker[5] @rendell71 posted a video referring to the shampoo video, writing, "SENDING LOVE FOR KAMNYANG ♥️♥️♥️" garnering over 5.2 million views in a day (shown below, right). Many of KaMangyan's fans sent her messages of support in her TikTok[6][7] comments after her video went viral.
