KANTOOO refers to a video uploaded by YouTuber JammerProHD reacting to the announcement of the video games Pokémon Let's Go Eevee and Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu, and its subsequent parodies released on 4chan's /vp/ board.
The video's thumbnail was mocked and parodied by the boards users, and the phrase 'KANTOOO' was adopted to mock those who enjoy Generation 1 Pokémon games, as well as GameFreak's retread of Generation 1 Pokémon games.

Origin

JammerProHD's reaction video to Pokémon Let's Go Eevee and Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu was initially posted on May 29th, 2018.^[1] It has since been deleted.

The video prompted /vp/ users to mock and parody the YouTuber's reaction by uploading various edits of the video's thumbnail and the reaction's audio recording. On June 5th, 2018, a thread^[2] was uploaded on 4chan's board /vp/ linking to the reaction video, which prompted to users posting various edits of the video's thumbnail, most of them accentuating the surreal nature of JammerProHD's reaction, or picturing him as a soyboy, linking his thumbnail to the nu-male smile (examples shown below).

On January the 21st of 2019, another thread^[3] was published on /vp/ where several users uploaded audio of themselves shouting the word "Kanto!"
