Kazuma Kiryu Slams Table refers to a scene from the 2017 action-adventure video game Yakuza Kiwami 2 in which main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu slams a table with his fist and leaves. The scene gained significant popularity as a reaction on Instagram in mid-June 2019 following a viral tweet.

Origin

On December 7th, 2017, Yakuza 2 remake Yakuza Kiwami 2, developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, was released in Japan.^[1] In one cutscene of the game, main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu slams the table and leaves after watching a video recording from character Kaoru Sayama on a laptop.

On June 13th, 2019, Twitter @cybershoujo user tweeted "just found out that yakuza arent real", attaching the video as a reaction.^[2] The tweet gained over 130 retweets and 330 likes in three weeks. Later that day, Twitter user @fwiphy reused the clip, captioning it "just found out about sex" (shown below).^[3] The tweet received over 18,300 retweets and 53,300 likes in three weeks, with the video accumulating over 715,000 views in the same period.

On June 19th, 2019, Instagram user asdfcobi posted a meme based on the clip,^[4] captioned "Horny Niggas finding out they have to use Phub Premium to watch Belle Delphine." The video gained over 121,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

In the following days, the clip has been used as a reaction and for edits on Instagram, with notable posts by users joshua.likes.salsa,^[5] a.spicy.meme^[6] and professionalretard.mp4.^[7]
