Keep Kamala and Carry Onala refers to a catchphrase comprised of wordplay on the classic "Keep Calm and Carry On" British slogan, which was said during a special cold open sketch in the November 2nd, 2024, episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Origin

On November 2nd, 2024, Vice President and 2024 Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on SNL's episode hosted by comedian John Mulaney, playing her mirrored image alongside actress Maya Rudolph (who had been impersonating Harris for several episodes in the season and past episodes) in the show's cold open. During a conversation between Rudolph and Harris, they say the line, "Keep Kamala and Carry Onala," at the same time, which is a wordplay inspired by the British slogan "Keep calm and carry on."

SNL posted the cold open sketch on its official X^[1] account the following day (seen below), amassing over 3.4 million views and 78,000 likes in less than 24 hours.

For instance, on November 2nd, 2024, X^[2] user @NotYerAvgChick tweeted "Keep Calmala and Carryonala" adding a GIF of Harris as a reaction (seen below), which received roughly 10,000 views and 320 likes in a day.

Also on November 2nd, X^[4] user @A_tothe_Z_Amber posted a variation of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster (seen below), which amassed more than 3,100 likes and 400 reposts in a day.

On November 3rd, 2024, Redditor thefineraspberry^[3] uploaded a version of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster to the /r/KamalaHarris subreddit, replacing the original slogan with the "Keep Kamala and Carry Onala" catchphrase. The post (seen below) received over 350 upvotes and 10 comments in less than a day.
