brat is a pop music album released by English singer Charlie XCX on June 7th, 2024. The album became a cultural phenomenon during the summer of 2024, inspiring the term "Brat Summer," a summer defined by the vibes of the album and by being a "brat." In a TikTok[1] video, Charlie XCX described a brat as a girl who "is a little messy," "likes to party," “says some dumb things sometimes” and is “honest, blunt and a little bit volatile” (shown below).

On June 30th, 2024, TikTok[2] user @temhota36 posted a TikTok video that applied the Brat Summer aesthetic to Kamala Harris' Fell Out of a Coconut Tree video and catchphrase. The post (shown below) received over 1.1 million views and 196,000 views in three weeks.

On July 2nd, 2024, X[3] / Twitter user @ryanlong03 shared the video, with the repost gaining over 120 reposts and 950 likes in three weeks. Later that day, X[4] user @frynaomifry wrote, "would a kamala presidency be 'brat coded,'" with the post gaining over 370 reposts and 7,200 likes in a similar timeframe (shown below).
More Brat edits of Kamala Harris were shared on X and TikTok in early July 2024. For example, on July 3rd, X[5] user @ryanlong03 posted an edit that received over 3.9 million views, 5,600 reposts and 38,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).

On July 21st, 2024, following the news of Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 Presidential Election and Kamala Harris becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, singer Charlie XCX wrote on X[6] / Twitter, "kamala IS brat," with her post gaining over 51,000 reposts and 313,000 likes in two days (shown below).
