Koji Evo 2025 Loss Reaction, also known as KojiKOG Crashout or Esports Player Evo Meltdown, refers to a viral clip of professional fighting game player KojiKOG losing to GO1 in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves at the 2025 Evolution Championship Series (EVO) esports competition. Koji is seen screaming, clutching his head and freaking out as GO1 shrugs and looks dumbfounded. While many perceived it as a genuine freakout video, Koji's intense reaction was a recurring bit that he did when losing to GO1, like he did at Evo 2015. His reaction sparked viral memes and posts. Many turned the video into a reaction GIF and exploitable meme template. The memes largely surfaced on Twitter / X in early August 2025, due to a viral tweet from user @kayos_o.

Origin

On August 3rd, 2025, esports gamers GO1 and KojiKOG faced off in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves at the 2025 Evolution Championship Series (EVO). Their Top 8 match was posted to YouTube^[1] by Fatal Fury CotW Pro Replays on that day. At the end, KojiKOG lost the match and began screaming and clutching his head.

The clip was posted by X^[2] user @kayos_o on August 3rd, who captioned it, "NO ONE HAS EVER LOOKED LIKE THEY SUFFERED LIKE THIS IN HUMAN HISTORY." The tweet received over 19.1 million views and 183,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Within the same hour on August 3rd, 2025, X^[3] user @DaarkMagiciann replied to the abovementioned tweet with a sped-up GIF of the clip, gaining over 53,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Others posted similar GIFs on August 3rd, like X^[4] user @ThizzUchiha, who replied to the same tweet with a square-cropped, regular-speed video of just Koji screaming and pulling off his headphones, gaining over 2,100 likes in a day (shown below).

On August 3rd, 2025, X^[5] user @Bloo4LYFE quote-tweeted @kayos_o's post, giving context to Koji's reaction. Koji had done the same overexaggerated reaction 10 years before at Evo 2015 after losing to GO1 in Aquapazza. The old clip, reposted by @Bloo4LYFE, received over 13,000 likes in a day (shown below).

That same day, X^[6] user @Infilament tweeted a parody freeze-frame image of GO1, as if it were a TV show opening. The meme received over 10,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Also on August 3rd, 2025, X^[7] user @Keith_Ace_ tweeted an edited version of the Shinji in a Chair template, showing Koji as Shinji and GO1 edited behind him. In a day, the post received over 11,000 likes (shown below).

On August 4th, Redditor Worldlyoox shared the original clip to the /r/PublicFreakout^[8] subreddit, gaining over 13,000 upvotes in a few hours.

Later that same day, Redditor^[9] JohnTheBaptiste1 commented on the /r/PublicFreakout subreddit post with an object labeled meme, showing GO1 shrugging and Koji freaking out and screaming, each labeled, "My boss freaking out because the deadline is today" and "Me clocking out." In a few hours, the meme received over 2,500 upvotes (shown below).
