Origin

On August 22nd, 2022, TikTok^[1] user @the10te posted a video montage about his alleged dog, named Leandro, being interested in French bread. Many people considered it a relatable look at the average daily routine of a Brazilian teen, with the dog sitting on the couch while posing for a picture that can be easily replaced by a human. The video, seen below, received 1.7 million views in one month.

Spread

Similar to meme characters like Big Floppa and wenomechainsama, people started to create lore involving the dog. They first started to flood the comment section of the video with captions like "what's the dog's name?" Then, the lore about the dog grew on TikTok meme accounts, with videos describing Leandro's daily routine, which consisted in waking up, eating French bread and standing on the couch the whole day. This led to a number of appreciation posts as well, such as the one below, which was posted by @nokamid on TikTok^[2] on September 1st. It gained nearly 938,000 views in nine days.

On August 31st, 2022, @the10te posted a new video update of the dog's routine, but this time Leandro did not move off the couch because of the cold weather. The post has 464,000 views in one week.

In some memes, Leandro also shares the same multiverse as the a a Follow dog. This TikTok ^[3] video by @bicicleta.motorisada on September 6th, 2022, shows a musical battle between the dogs, where Leandro sings "Na Cdd Só Tem Bandido Faixa Preta" by the Brazilian singer MC Poze do Rodo, presented line by line with the incorrect phonetic spelling of the lyrics. The post gained 221,000 views in two days.
