Lemon Pie Story, also known as Lemon Pie Texts, refers to a viral TikTok slideshow that outlines a story between two lovers that grow apart, centering on the symbol of lemons and lemon pie. The sad slideshow read like a poem or short story and gained viral reactions from those who read it in November 2023. The Lemon Pie Story was similar to the precursor I Peeled My Orange Today slideshow. Both were compared to each other in videos akin to the TikTok trend.

Origin

On November 13th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @sappoop posted a long-form photo slideshow that outlined a sad love story about two lovers growing apart, centering on the symbol of lemons and lemon pie. The slideshow used the same Interlinked sound as the precursor "I Peeled My Orange Today" slideshow. Over three days, the photos received roughly 4.6 million plays and 976,700 likes (recording shown below).

Going into November 2023, users on TikTok started to post reaction videos in which they expressed the emotional power of the Lemon Pie Story. For instance, an early and viral reaction was posted by TikToker^[2] @0xchii on November 14th, 2023, showing her screaming and crying with text about the story, receiving roughly 398,800 plays and 2,600 likes in two days (shown below, left).

Also on November 14th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @ms.rileytheonenonly posted a similar video which received over 334,800 plays and 1,700 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, right).

Viral content referencing the Lemon Pie Story continued to surface on TikTok in the days that followed its upload. Many started to compare it to the precursor "I Peeled My Orange Today" slideshow, such as TikToker^[4] @r34llol on November 14th, 2023, who alleged that the Lemon Pie Story was sadder, gaining over 143,900 plays and 1,200 likes in two days (shown below).
