Let Me Drive the Boat is a memorable quote uttered by American rapper Kodak Black in an Instagram Story. The quote has been remixed and used as the punchline to various captions.

Origin

On February 5th, 2019, Kodak Black posted a series of videos on Instagram Stories of himself on a boat in the Bahamas.[1][2] That day, the YouTube account HipHopAllAround posted video compilation of the clips, which includes Kodak Black saying "Let me drive the boat." The video has received more than 54,000 views in less than two months (shown below).


Spread

Several days later, on February 12th, YouTuber styvens saintelus published a video edit, combining the Kodak Black clip with a boat fail. The post received more than 28,000 views in less than months (shown below).


On February 19th, Twitter user @nigeriansosa tweeted the video with the caption "Christopher Columbus crew members after his dumbass sailed to the wrong country again." The post received more than 58,000 retweets, 144,000 likes and 1.72 million views in one month (shown below).
