Look At This Beautiful View Outside My Window refers to a photo meme popular on Twitter where a person posts four pictures and Twitter's photo-display function in mobile and in embeds makes it appear as though the image is being looked at through a four-panel window.
Origin
On June 4th, 2018, user @jonnysun[1] tweeted the first example of the meme, using cropped images of the Windows XP Bliss Wallpaper, gaining 4,200 retweets and 18,000 likes (shown below).
Spread
After @Jonnysun's tweet, other users picked up on the trend. Some popular examples include a tweet by @imskytrash that used the swamp from Shrek, gaining over 1,000 retweets and 3,700 likes (shown below, left). User @Kyle4J used the image from the Ye Album Cover, gaining 111 retweets and 463 likes (shown below, right).
Other Twitter users noticed the format did not work when pulling up the tweet by itself. User @DanMentos took a screenshot of how @jonnysun's tweet looked in this view, gaining over 490 likes (shown below, left). In response, @jonnysun made a version which would appear correct in this format, which confused mobile users (shown below, right). The jokes were covered by Mashable.[2]
