Luke Crywalker, also known as Crying Liberal Woman or Screaming Trump Protester, is a nickname given to anti-Trump protester Jessica Starr after she was recorded screaming in agony during the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America.

Origin

On January 20th 2017, ITV News published video footage of Starr screaming immediately after Trump was sworn in as president. The video has since been reuploaded to YouTube (shown below).

Spread

That day, YouTuber orlared uploaded an extended clip of the woman screaming titled "Satan leaves a woman's soul as Trump is sworn in" (shown below, left). Meanwhile, the NY Post^[6] published an article about Starr titled "This Trump protester completely lost her mind." Also on January 20th, YouTuber Politics for Patriots uploaded a mashup of Starr screaming with the 1997 ballad "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion (shown below, right).

That day, YouTuber Rusty Cage the Starr clip along with a montage of various television and film characters screaming "No!" (shown below, left). On January 21st, YouTuber orlared uploaded an interview with the woman conducted by ITV News (shown below, right)

Also on January 21st, artist @lushsux^[5] posted a photograph of a mural featuring Donald Trump wearing a Bane mask next to a depiction of Luke Crywalker with the caption "autistic screeching" (shown below). Within 48 hours, the post gained over 8,800 likes and 270 comments.

On January 23rd 2017, a thread about the protester was created on 4chan's /b/ (random) board, where several users agreed she should be nicknamed Luke Crywalker in reference to a scene from the Star Wars franchise.^[7] Later that day, an Encyclopedia Dramatica^[4] page for "Luke Crywalker" was created.
