Origin

On February 21st, 2021, TikTok^[1] user @happyharryarbuckle uploaded a video of himself singing "Black In Black" by AC/DC with new lyrics while watching a video of a mayonnaise jar going upstairs using an escalator, which originated in a video by @mayonaiseman02. The video received more than 8.9 million views in one year (shown below, left). On May 4th, 2021, the same TikTok^[2] user uploaded the full version of the song, which received more than 2.3 million views in one year (shown below, right).

On May 10th, 2021, TikTok^[3] user @horizon95_ uploaded a video proclaiming the user as a SIMP, though the abbreviation "simp" in the video means "mayonnaise on an escalator." The video received more than 10.6 million views in one year. On the next day, YouTube^[4] user Jamzy reposted the video, which received more than 2.1 million views in one year (shown below).

On May 26th, 2022, YouTube^[5] user D0m1n1k CZ uploaded a video from the game Escape From Tarkov that shows a jar of mayonnaise on an escalator. The video received more than 479,000 views (shown below, left). On July 6th, 2021, YouTube^[6] user Eerier uploaded the "official lyrics" of the song, which received more than 1.4 million views in one year (shown below, right).
