MC Stan is an Indian rapper known for his catchphrase Tera Ghar Jayenga Isme ("your house will sell with this much" in English) and for being the winner of the Indian reality television show Bigg Boss season 16. The rapper is known for his large following in the state of Maharashtra, India, and for his controversial style and music.

Origin

MC Stan first went viral on YouTube, where he has gathered over 7 million followers as of March 2023.^[1] His song Kujha Mat,^[2] uploaded on December 31st, 2018, gathered over 48 million views in four years (seen below, left). His most viewed upload is for his song Ek Din Pyaar,^[3] which gathered over 105 million views in the two years since its upload on October 13th, 2020 (seen below, right).

In early August 2021, MC Stan went on Instagram Live and delivered a memorable dialogue about his expensive shoes. He said, "80 hazaar ke shoes hai, assi hazaar ke. Tera ghar jaayenga ismee tera ghar isme chala jayenga poora," which translates to "These shoes are worth 80,000 rupees, the same worth as your house." The clip can be seen at the 5:55-minute watermark in the video below (shown below).^[4]

In July 2022, the catchphrase "tera ghar jayenga isme" began to spread online. An early instance of the phrase being used in a meme was in a June 13th, 2022, upload by the Instagram page @dunk.ashu in a post that gathered over 5,000 likes in eight months (seen below).^[5]

The phrase subsequently became a prominent sound effect in various meme videos, as shown in a June 19th, 2022, post by the Instagram page @meme.sangathan,^[6] which gathered over 900 likes in nine months and was reposted by various meme pages (seen below).

In February 2023, MC Stan was announced as the winner of the Indian reality television show Bigg Boss, a move that polarized viewers of the show. On February 12th, 2023, the Instagram page @the_fake_ashwathama posted a meme^[7] that translates to, "A God that can make MC stan a winner must be able to make something of me too," gathering over 4,000 likes in a month (seen below, left). On March 1st, the page then posted another meme about MC Stan,^[8] gathering over 3,000 likes in a week (seen below, right).
