About
Mega Starmie is a form of the Pokémon species Starmie, introduced in the 2025 core series game Pokémon Legends Z-A. When Starmie Mega Evolves, it grows bigger and taller, gaining a slightly more humanoid appearance. These traits have made Mega Starmie the focus of several memes since its introduction.
Origin
Mega Evolution is type of form change that was first introduced in the 2013 core series games Pokémon X and Y. In order to Mega Evolve a Pokémon, the Pokémon Trainer must be holding a Key Stone while the Pokémon holds an appropriate Mega Stone.[1][2]
Mega Starmie was one of several Mega-Evolved forms introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, released worldwide on October 16, 2025, as a sequel to X and Y and the second game in the Pokémon Legends subseries of action RPGs, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Legends: Z-A is set 5 years after X and Y and takes place entirely in the Kalos region's Lumiose city, where an urban re-development project is taking place, leading to the creation of wild zones. Another major plot point is Rogue Mega Evolution, where wild Pokémon (Pokémon with no Pokémon Trainer) undergo Mega Evolution on their own, one of those Pokémon being a Starmie.
Unlike most Mega Evolutions, Mega Starmie's form doesn't change drastically. Its most notable change is that it grows 4 feet (1.2 meters) taller, gaining longer legs in the process, and its movements become more humanlike. According to in-game info, it's unclear whether or not it wants to simply communicate with or to supplant the human race.[3]
Spread
[WIP]
Mega Starmie was first discovered when, shortly before Legends: Z-A was set to release, a colossal data leak revealed a lot of info on the game, much like the Game Freak Pokémon GigaLeaks.
