WIP in Progress

Part of a series on Pokémon Legends: Z-A

About

Mega Starmie is the Mega Evolution form of the funny purple starfish where he/she/it (all pronouns are valid btw. Starfish are hermaphrodites) grew taller as well as act more uncannily human.

Origin

According to Bulbapedia,[1] Mega Evolutions are temporary evolutions that some Pokémon undergo when prompted by the trainers with their respective Mega Stones as their held item. This mechanic has been implemented in the sixth Pokémon Generation, Pokémon X and Y in particular, with 28 Mega Evolutions introduced in the game, all of with are Pokémon from Kanto, and four of which are X and Y forms of Charizard and Mewtwo.

In this particular game, however, Mega Starmie, one of the newest Mega Evolution introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a sequel to Pokémon Legends Arceus, released in 16th of October 2025, was introduced as a Rogue Mega Evolution, which is explained in the game as an anomaly where the featured Wild Pokémon (Pokémon with no Pokémon Trainer) undergoes Mega Evolution without any prompt from any trainers.

Starmie's Mega Evolution was discovered when the Switch 1 version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A was dumped and leaked online ahead of its official release.
