On December 4th, 2024, the same day as the annual Spotify Wrapped personalized statistic was released, X^[1] user @citehchris shared a collection of four mirror selfies taken by him in 2024, commenting, "mirror selfie wrapped 2024," referencing Spotify Wrapped. The post (shown below) received over 120 reposts and 340 likes in one day.

Following the post, other users on X / Twitter joined in on the budding trend, sharing collections of four or more mirror selfies they made in 2024, often quote posting a previously seen post when making their own.

For example, on December 4th, 2024, X^[2] user @madsmotionless made a post that gained over 610 likes in one day. Later that day, X user @emxlymargaret quoted their post with her own "mirror selfie wrapped," with her tweet gaining over 30 reposts and quotes and 210 likes (shown below).
