Mr. Lagoon Puddle Jokes, also known as 70K Puddle, refers to viral discourse and memes on TikTok about TikToker Mr. Lagoon (@mr.lagoon4) who allegedly spent roughly $70,000 to build a "lagoon" pool in a backyard. However, after it was finished, TikTok users and viewers joked that it was a "puddle" and mocked it in TikTok comments and video content. Mr. Lagoon seemingly owns a lagoon company that builds backyard lagoons. Many of the memes showed puddles and called them lagoons, saying they were "70K puddles." Mr. Lagoon defended his lagoons in TikTok comments, saying that they were much deeper than they appeared.

Mr. Lagoon's account @mr.lagoon4 first posted a TikTok^[1] photo slideshow on October 13th, 2023. His account went largely viral on April 20th, 2024, when he posted a TikTok^[2] of a man-made lagoon that received over 5.4 million plays and 267,400 likes in four months (shown below).

Mr. Lagoon's next TikTok^[3] was posted on April 22nd, 2024, showing a different angle of the same lagoon. On April 28th, TikToker @itslowkeyjuliana commented, "That’s the nicest puddle I’ve ever seen," receiving roughly 3,900 likes in four months (shown below). The comment is the first known "puddle" joke about Mr. Lagoon's lagoons.

TikTokers started to watch Mr. Lagoon's older videos and left "puddle" comments on them going into June 2024. For instance, multiple TikTokers circled back to one of his TikToks^[5] posted on May 10th, 2024, gaining over 13.2 million plays and 1.2 million likes in three months (shown below).
