Origin

On May 4th, 2022, Amber Heard took the stand during her trial vs. Johnny Depp. During the trial, Heard told a story that took place in 2013 about a trip she, Depp and friends allegedly took to Hicksville Trailer Palace to take "laughy drugs," including mushrooms and MDMA. Heard testified that at one point Depp got high and accused her of stealing his drugs then forcibly cavity searched her. The trailer ended up getting "trashed," and the owner of the trailer was mad at first but Depp allegedly charmed him out of his anger. She finishes the story by saying the next day their dog stepped on a bee, makes a hurt face and then says they took the dog to the vet (shown below).[1]

On May 5th, 2022, TikToker[3] @brandonharvey94 posted an edit of the scene where Heard says the line followed by a cut to an attorney saying, "objection, relevance," gaining over 13.8 million views in four days (shown below). The edit was shared on Twitter[6] two days later, gaining over 100,000 likes and 10,000 retweets in two days.

The video inspired a trend on TikTok where users say sentences that rhyme with "my dog stepped on a bee." For example, on May 6th, TikToker[4] @jeff.rad posted a video stitching the clip where he rhymes, "my dad has to pee" and mimics her face, gaining over 900,000 views in three days (shown below, left). On May 7th, TikToker[5] @hashtagghosting123 rhymed his video with, "I forgot my house key," gaining over 5.6 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).
