One of the earliest known videos cited in N-word Soundalike memes is the "So Your Neck Hurts" viral video. On July 25th, 2022, TikToker^[1] and chiropractor @dr.remix posted a video titled, "So your neck hurts?" The video showed the specialist singing a song set to the tune of "Savage" by Megan Thee Stallion, and showing people how to crack their neck when it hurts.

The words "neck hurts" were taken to sound like the N-word by many viewers. The video gathered over 34 million views and 1.3 million likes in three years.

Another notable video cited in N-word Soundalike memes is "3 Netherite Ingots."

On August 31st, 2022, TikToker^[2] @borkzzisdaddy posted a video about how he creates netherite ingots in the survival video game Minecraft, at one point stuttering and blurting out a noise that sounds like the N-word. The video gathered over 20 million views and 2 million likes in two years.

The words "No, you're" sounded like the N-word with a hard R to many viewers. The caption on the video read, "no one: me me when I learn something new." The video gathered over 20 million plays and 2 million likes in 10 months.

On October 19th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @rev.goofyahhboi shared a video of a young boy asking for a "burst fade" while getting a haircut, and his barber telling him, "This is a burst fade, you nugget." The word "nugget" was jokingly misconstrued as the N-word by viewers, and the video gathered over 6 million views and 400,000 likes in nine months.

The test on the video notably referenced the "3 Netherite Ingots" video.

N-Word Soundalike TikTok Trend

By February 2025, several TikTokers began sharing N-word Soundalike videos and editing them to emphasize the offensive word.

On March 9th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @not_spife made a post referencing several "n-word soundalike" memes, including "So Your Neck Hurts," "3 Netherite Ingots" and "My First Jar of Pickles." The post gathered over 2 million plays and 100,000 likes in two months.

On April 3rd, 2025, TikToker^[7] @nic0981323nocringystuff posted a video of a man giving an interview and saying "We better get back, make a run for it," where "make a" sounded like the N-word to many viewers. The post gathered over 300,000 plays and 30,000 likes in two weeks.
