The post gained significant backlash over the following days from people insisting that autistic, gluten intolerant and transgender people existed prior to the 1970s and 1980s and that awareness of these people has simply increased over the years.

For example, on September 2nd, 2024, X[2] user @_AnonHater_ commented, "Autism has been medically recognized since the 40s, the term Transgender was coined in the 60s and gluten intolerance/celiac since the 50s you absolute knob," garnering over 14,000 likes in four days.

On the same day, X[3] user @realKellyKnight made a comment claiming they were diagnosed with autism in 1958, the year he was born, writing, "Just because we didn’t call it what we do today does not mean it didn’t exist then," garnering over 19,000 likes in four days.

Kelly → @realKellyKnight This is not actually true. I am autistic, and have been since 1958, the year I was born. It's just that we did not know to call someone autistic by that name. If you went to school in the 60's or 70's, you probably knew someone who seemed antsy all the time, couldn't sit still, talked a lot, had a bad memory on some things but did really well in math, could repeat back something he just read, didn't fit in socially, was awkward with the opposite sex. The list goes on, and each of these are symptoms of someone living somewhere along the autism spectrum. Just because we didn't call it what we do today does not mean it didn't exist then. Sheesh. 12:26 AM Sep 2, 2024 - 553.6K Views

Damn kids these days and their mental health needs. Back in my day if I'd have complained about "Wah, Father, I just feel sad all the time. I'm struggling to see the point in living." he would have taught me how to tie a proper noose. Kids used to be involuntarily committed and lobotomized all the time, and that's how we liked it. After all, if God had wanted kids with autism to live, then why is it that every time I see one I get the urge to stab the little shit through the eye with an ice pick and the wiggle it all around until the soul flees its mortal form, leaving behind what can best be described as an animate corpse?
Checkmate, liberals.

Its still crazy how a certain, noteworthy extent of the population of America still believes mental disorders like autism and depression aren't actually real. Like, we were still putting these people in pro-abuse institutions as far back the 2010s.
