About
Google Dockey is a slang term for "Google Doc," meant to sound like "Chicken Jockey," a reference to a scene from A Minecraft Movie that became a popular meme in early 2025. In late April 2025, a reaction GIF of the film's protagonist Steve (played by actor Jack Black) saying the line was paired with the phrase "Google Dockey" by X / Twitter user @Millburry13 and became increasingly popularized over the following days during the Sinder drama, as involved parties continued to drop Google Docs making allegations.
Origin
On April 26th, 2025, X[1] user @Millburry13 quoted a post by animator @ShallotHare, sharing an apology in the form of a Google Doc. In their post, @Millburry13 shares a screenshot of Steve from A Minecraft Movie saying, "Chicken Jockey," under the caption, "GOOGLE DOCKEY‼️‼️‼️" The post gained over 148,000 likes in five days.

Spread
On April 26th, 2025, X[2] user @SaberToothTora posted the same image of Steve under the caption, "GOOGLE DOCKEY." The post gained over 6,700 likes in five days.
On April 27th, VTuber Sinder released a Google Doc apologizing to artist Nanoless for a series of allegations leveled against her and her manager and boyfriend REDACTED.
That day, X[3] user @abaddonVT posted the Steve image, writing, "GOOGLE DOCKEY," garnering over 12,000 likes in four days. Shortly after, X[4] user @RevivalOfPotara posted the same meme as a quote to the apology, garnering over 29,000 likes in the same span of time.

Also on April 27th, 2025, X[5] user @FrankieZaremba posted an edit of the scene from A Minecraft Movie, replacing the Chicken Jockey's head with Sinder's and altering Steve's dialogue, garnering over 54,000 likes in four days.

On April 28th, X[6] user @VTuberASMRFan posted a version of the meme as a quote-repost to X user @LeoSiegfried posting a satirical Google Doc about their experience with @VTuber ASMRFan, garnering over 6,800 likes in three days.
