The post inspired a slew of memes that edited the baby to resemble various Batman and pop culture characters in November 2024 as it became an exploitable. The name "Officer Bald" is inspired by another popular Batman: Arkham meme, Officer Balls.

Origin

The image of the smiling bald baby was originally posted to the subreddit /r/babies on October 30th, 2022, by Redditor^[1] /u/myboysiddartha. The image was posted alongside several other photos with the caption, "We are biased AF so, Reddit, is our baby cute?" The post gathered over 800 upvotes in two years.

On November 12th, 2024, Redditor^[2] /u/Blakcok posted the image of /u/myboysiddartha's baby to /r/BatmanArkham with the caption, "I FUCKED 9 months ago. What should I name it?" The post gathered over 26,000 upvotes in three days.

The baby was named "Officer Bald" in the replies to this post, in a comment coined by Redditor /u/natagu.

On November 13th, 2024, several /r/BatmanArkham users began posting edited images of the baby, which they began referring to as "Officer Bald." That day, Redditor^[4] /u/ThinkSea2935 posted an edit showing a game of tic tac toe on the baby's forehead, gathering over 2,000 points in two days.

Also on November 13th, the same Redditor^[3] posted another edit, this time showing the baby edited to look like "Man," a popular /r/BatmanArkham meme. The post gathered over 1,400 points in two days.

On November 14th, 2024, Redditor^[5] /u/govnanio posted an image of the baby edited to wear a monocle and tophat, alongside a caption that read, "Riddle me this aslumers. Who fucked 9 months ago?" The post gathered over 4,000 points in a day. Also on November 14th, Redditor^[6] /u/thatoneguy8910 posted an edit of the baby made to resemble the Joker, gathering over 4,000 upvotes on a post that read, "How the FUCK did he get those scars."

On November 14th, 2024, Officer Bald's father, Redditor /u/myboysiddartha, acknowledged the memes about his baby, posting to /r/BatmanArkham^[7] and writing, "Officer Bald is my son LOL." He also shared more photos of Officer Bald, who is now a 2-year-old toddler with hair.
