On January 5th, 2019, Redditor [2] MildShadyPassenger posted the quote in the /r/showerthoughts subreddit. The post received more than 72,000 points (78% upvoted) and 2,100 comments in less than two years.

Spread

That day, Twitter [1] user @TheWeirdWorld tweeted the quote. The post received more than 7,800 likes and 1,300 retweets in less than two years (shown below).

On February 19th, 2020, Redditor[4] PredatorHU used the copypasta in a Kim Jong-un Watching Television meme. The post received more than 6,100 points (96% upvoted) and 50 comments in less than one week (shown below, right).

To be fair, the copypasta's right. Not only that, but video games are also a more beneficial form of activity while sick due to their requirement of active hand-eye coordination and activity acting as an effective distraction from the discomfort of being sick, compared to more passive forms of leisure such as watching a show/movie or reading a book.

So if you're sick but are well enough to play video games, by all means play them.
